Tata Hexa SUV Front angled View

After launching the Tata Tiago with its famed ‘Impact’ design language, the company is back with what looks like an improved version of Aria (but it isn’t), the all new Hexa with the impression of an SUV and a crossover clubbed together. With an overall muscular stance which also packs in dynamic performance, next-gen technology, absolute comfort and an improved design with inputs from Tata’s very own British Automaker Land Rover, the car seems to meet all the demands of an ardent fan of SUVs with a slight taste for crossovers. The car was first showcased at the Auto Expo 2016 and has since been much awaited with a speculated launch in January next year. What it has in store is yet to be looked at. Why don’t you join in to find out?

The Design

Tata Hexa SUV front viewIn the upfront, the design is quite sporty and impressive with wheel arches bulging sideways and a bit of a chrome treatment with headlamps swept back. Placing the DRL’s way below, just above the fog lamps is a different move by the designers along with accentuated detailing. The impact design is working out quite well so far with the unchanged honeycomb grille above the chromed skid plate.

Tata Hexa SUV Rear view

Smoked headlamps complement the otherwise sporty front fascia. Moving on towards the sides, the one noticeable character of Hexa will be its tall stance piggybacked on 19-inch alloys which is known to be the best in its class. Besides this, the car is quiet lengthy which translates to an increased interior space and comfort much needed in an SUV disagreeing with sub-4 metre trend in the market.A look on the roofline will make you notice what the company calls a ‘floating roof’ which unknowingly acts like a rear roof spoiler, kudos to the design freaks in the company. Stylized horizontal tail lamps with first in India patented flexible LED technology connected by a refined chrome applique is a highlight of its rear design. Chrome returns once again mid back and down below with twin exhausts incorporated.

The Interiors

Tata Hexa SUV dashboard The interiors are quiet welcoming with a sporty dashboard and plenty of room with awesome finishes and soft touch material textures and grains. Sculpted seats with Benecke Kaliko upholstery with contrast stitch and accented bolsters for ultimate comfort gives a high end treatment for passengers. Along with a good headroom, the car has been added with plenty of comfort centric accessories like cup holders, mood lighting with a choice of 8 colors for in cabin lighting with illumination control and customization, utility spaces for all three rows which includes a chilled glove box for the first row, advanced driver information system with a 3.5 inch TFT display with a multi Tata Hexa SUV instrument cluster colored graphical user interface to get the maximum driving comfort whilst showing you essential car parameters. Like in other Tata cars, the Hexa has also been provided with Harman’s ConnectNext infotainment system to keep you entertained and also has voice recognition and smartphone integration incorporated which is connected to a 10 speaker JBL system which includes 4 door speakers, 4 tweeters, a center speaker, sub-woofer and a powerful amplifier for the audiophiles out there who demand power and great audio in a vehicle of this caliber.

Tata Hexa SUV leather seats Another perk includes an 8-way adjustable driver’s seat using horizontal, vertical, angular recline and lumbar control. Automatic climate control with dual HVAC that adjusts cabin temperature with personalized air flow and speed control through AC vents in each row has also been provided. Furthermore, the flexible seat configuration increases the adaptability of the SUV which means boot space can expand up to 671 litres after folding off the second and the third row.

Many things are taken care of automatically in this vehicle like the auto headlamps, auto-wipers with rain sensing capability with seven speed modes for varying rain intensity. On the outside, electrically adjustable and foldable outer rear view mirrors (ORVM’s) are included with demisters. The 2nd row windows are provided with retractable blinds too. Your smartphones aren’t gonna be out of juice as the USB charger provided in this vehicle is smart enough to sense and charge your device quickly when plugged in. And that pretty much sums up the interiors.
