Volvo has made an official announcement that they will start assembling cars locally in India from 2017. The local assembly will be focused on the cars based on Volvo’s SPA modular vehicle architecture and will be done with the help of Volvo Group India’s existing infrastructure near Bengaluru where Volvo buses, trucks and construction equipment are manufactured. The first Volvo car to be assembled in India will be the XC90. Once Volvo cars are manufactured in India, the price of the cars will certainly get low as compared to the current price range.
